Rockland Miniaturists Club
The Rockland Miniaturists Club meets once a month to work on scale dollhouse miniatures, share hobby information, learn handcrafting skills, complete individual projects, and collaborate on projects to present to the community. Members come to Rockland from all over the state! Guests and new members of all skill levels are always welcome. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
To date we have worked together to present a display at the Modeler’s Festival at the Owls Head Transportation Museum, and the Witherle Library in Castine, restoration of a dollhouse and creation of Christmas room boxes. During 2015, members will be taking turns to lead the group through various projects of their choice. We are currently working on a 1:24 inch scale travel trailer designed by Robin Betterly.
There is no membership fee to join the club. Members pay for materials on an as needed basis. A basic tool kit is handy, but generally all materials and tools are available to borrow or purchase at the studio.
Meetings are held at the studio of Bill and Barbara Studebaker in Rockland, usually the 4th Saturday of the month, 10:30-1:30. Members are invited to bring a bag lunch and may leave early if schedules require. Please call or email if you wish to attend. The studio will be open by appointment for “make up” or “catch up” or just for fun. Again, please call ahead.
